In what has become a regular tradition in the Albert Hall’s Christmas programming, composer John Rutter returns with two performances of his Christmas Celebration, conducting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Also eyeing the end of Rutter’s baton will be the two hundred-strong London-based Bach Choir. Guest soloists and award-wining vocal ensemble Voces8 complete the line-up.

Well known Christmas classics, including some of Rutter’s own compositions will feature. This popular show also typically incorporates a healthy dose of festive cheer, with audience participation, humour and even a musical quiz!

Rutter works regularly with both the Royal Philharmonic and Bach Choir. He has directed the former at his Albert Hall Christmas show for almost twenty years, and they feature on at least four of his albums. He is President of the almost 150-year-old Bach Choir and has conducted them many times including in his adopted county of Cambridgeshire.
